The Period Poverty Problem
Grace Thompson – Health Education Intern
Candor Health Education

For adolescents going through puberty, it’s never going to be an easy time. But for those experiencing their period for the first time, it can be even more difficult due to things like lack of education and knowledge on the menstrual cycle, the social stigma that surrounds periods, and the issue of being able to afford menstrual products.

MENSTRUAL SUPPLY DRIVE

Help us combat period poverty

Period poverty describes the struggle many low-income women and girls face while trying to afford menstrual products. The term also refers to the increased economic vulnerability women and girls face due the financial burden posed by menstrual supplies.

We donate these products to low-income partner schools so students have enough supplies to last them through the summer.
